Hello???? (insert echo here)

So, if you let three years go by between posts, how do you catch up?  Luckily, this blog was never really about my life in the first place so there isn't that much to catch up on.  So, it's later the same life....  That nice boyfriend that I used to mention is now my nice husband.  We have had some pet changes.  Both Cuby and Oafie died in 2012.  That was really tough.  Cuby was like 100 years old though.  I mean, in bunny years, he was literally about 100 years old.  Oafie died a few months later.  The doctor said, of a "broken heart."  That made me feel terrible.  A couple of months later we got our new friends Squirtford and McFlurry.  I am sure I will feature them at some point.  Right now I just spent 30 minutes grooming them, so I'm not speaking to them.
Anyway, so three years....I don't even understand how to use blogger anymore.  Do people even blog anymore?  Hasn't anyone invented some chip that you insert into your ear and it automatically uploads blog-worthy thoughts and transmits them to everyone on twitter?  Wow, what an awful idea.  If anyone ever reads this and is tech-savvy, please don't do that.
By the way, I started this blog almost exactly three years ago.  I was initially blogging about all the free stuff I was going to get for my birthday and that is just a few weeks away again....and I will still be reaping the benefits of that quest from 3 years ago!  Blogger says that the blog had 30 followers in 2010 so if anyone is still out there, please leave a comment and say hello!

theories?

Hey, as soon as I made up my mind that I had to write regularly, I stopped writing!  So I told myself I don't have to and here I am.
I have been meaning to write about this topic for a while.  Do you have any theories about life, the world or how it works that you can share with this blog?  I am not looking for enlightenment here, just entertainment.  For example:  you know how sometimes you hear yourself singing or thinking about a song and it is totally out of the blue?  Then you are like, huh?  where did that song come from?  Maybe you haven't heard it in 10 years.  Maybe you absolutely hate the song and you can't stop thinking about it anyway.  I mean sometimes it turns out there was a commercial on in the background or someone else was humming it but sometimes it just seems to pop up out of nowhere.  Plus, sometimes it is a song that repeatedly comes to you at random times.  I don't even want to venture to guess how many times I have randomly started humming the Meow Meow Cat Mix commercial.  Did I just write that on a public forum?
Anyway, my theory is this.  Brain Burps.  You know, kind of like acid reflux of the brain.  ARB, if you will.  You know all this crap is stored up in that brain of yours, stuck in all those cells.  Its all buried deep, layer upon layer.  Now my theory does not include what causes the reflux.  I mean, heck, I'm no scientist.  All I know, is something moves, and then something dislodges and then burrrrp.  If I visualize it, I think of a plate of nachos.  You move a bottom one and then all the layers move and you don't know which topic is going to fall down and where.  Only difference is this is reflux so it goes against gravity so the nacho/random song goes up rather than down on the plate.
This theory is a bit gross and yet hunger producing.  It also may leave you singing the Meow Meow Meow song.  For that, I apologize.  So my question for you is this:  Do you have any theories out there to explain life's complexities?  If not, what song is stuck in your head?
MEOW!

blogger's block

Sorry to say that I have had blogger's block.  Is that an expression?  OK, it is now.  It's a few months in and I am still not sure what direction to take this blog.  All I know is this time of year has my head in a whirlwind.  Yesterday I went to get some presents and oh my....it took hours.  I got what I needed (and have a few returns to make).  Here is the most important part of yesterday's excursion.  First of all, I saw a teenager walking down the street with a pacifier in her mouth.  Is that a new fad?  Not into it.  Second, I saw numerous people walking around stores talking to themselves.  I even tried to make sure and check to see if they had a bluetooth, which none of them did.  This month is driving everyone bananas.  On that note...I must confess....at Target, I saw a 1 pound package of Reese's peanut butter cups.  It was two large cups.  I have never seen than before.  I picked up the package, read what it was and then heard a very long, drawn out "ohhh my G-d!!!"  After a second I realized that voice was my own.  I actually was so surprised that the words just involuntarily escaped from my mouth!  I quickly walked away because really that was a bit weird.  Oh, and no I didn't buy it.  $9.99 for Reese's is a bit steep.
Also at Target, I saw a sweater I liked.  It was on the wrong rack so I walked around to see if there were more.  I couldn't find them so I circled again.  I just needed to know if it was supposed to be on the sale rack or not.  When I got back....it was gone.  So then I circled again to see if  could find the person who picked up the sweater.  I didn't.  I realized that I was now circling repeatedly, not even looking to buy something but to find the person who bought the something that I have no idea if I wanted in the first place.  This is enough to make you want a pacifier or a pound worth of Reese's.  Is it January yet????  :-)

my happy Black Friday

I woke up at 5:30 on this Black Friday.  Oh, I wasn't heading to buy anything.  Scott was going to work and we were staying at his parents house.  I woke up from the alarm and Natasha the dog slowly creeping in my space.  I dropped Scott off and went home and went back to sleep.  I was quite tempted to go shopping considering every tv and radio commercial I have seen or heard for the past week has been taunting me with sales and deals.  I was more tempted to sleep.
A couple of weeks ago the news featured a few stories about people who are only keeping what is essential and keeping their belongings to less that 100 items.  I thought that was just awful.  I like stuff.  Besides, in beads alone, I would be so far over its a joke.   I just like stuff.  pretty stuff, shiny stuff, things that bring back memories, blah blah blah.  When they showed these people's apartments, well it was just sad to me.
So I didn't get rid of all my stuff (although I am on an eternal quest to become organized and neat....G-d help me in that endeavor).  I didn't buy any stuff either.  I know exactly what I want and am saving for.   I am trying to know what I already have and where I put it.  I am sorry to say that I will not be spending $689 or whatever the projected amount per buyer this season is.  I encourage you all to shop or minimize or organize or whatever it is we are supposed to be doing and not doing all at the same time.  All I know is, I hope we all get what we want!

What's in a name?

Why do so many of my posts have a title with "what's in a...?"  I guess now we know why the blog is called janisiswondering.  Speaking of wondering, I have been wondering and pondering what to call my jewelry business.  I am starting to work on a business card/merchandise tag.  I uploaded pictures to moo.com and then came to the part when I am supposed to write something on the tag....hmmm.  This is not easy.  It will represent me and my work.  It should be catchy.  I don't want it to just be for jewelry because sometimes I make other stuff (thanks Christie).   Anyway, in the store making process, I hired a really cute model for a photo shoot.  She was good although at one point she started biting and tossing a bracelet.

Oafie, a (furry) star is born

It was a bracelet that looked like a flower so I guess this is to be expected.  After the shoot, she spent a good ten minutes grooming herself and then spent the rest of the day napping.  Modeling is apparantly exhausting!  Luckily, I got a few good shots.

Rhinestones are a bunny's best friend

So, I am still pondering the name but am thinking something to do with "burrow," such as From The Burrow or Burrow Creations.  Tomorrow I have two bracelet deliveries to make so I am so excited!  I am trying to keep positive thoughts and visualize success and I am working hard!
I would love input about the name, business, etc.
